Claire & Dan- A Lakeside tipi

A lakeside view, customised jacket and a gorgeous tipi were amongst the details for Claire and Dan’s Springtime Wedding last year.

Having met them the year before their Wedding at our studio, we knew that they day would be stunning. Claire was the driving force behind the vision of the day, and wanted to be able to hire some of our props and decor to ease some of the pressure.

We caught up this lovely couple, and in their words they told us how it all came together.

We got married in a tipi by a lake in the spring time. The feel of the wedding was relaxed, vintage, rustic and natural. Therefore we wanted decor to reflect this. A lot of items we used from our own home which helped with the personal touches, for example a family trunk, briefcase, step ladder and side table. However still this wasn't going to be enough to dress the entire venue!

We bought a few things too like photo frames for table numbers; items which I could get use from after the wedding. But I wasn't going to have use for 30 odd tables runners post wedding day. This is where Tara came in and saved the day! We met Tara at a Sami Tipi open day (where her venue set ups will quite literally blow you away) and she freely offered loads of advice, tips and tricks about setting up your own event! After hearing we had many decorative bits ourselves but still needed more she told us all about her dry hire option. We were invited to go down to her studio and see all her pieces and put together a collection of bits and bob's to hire. We had the best time looking through all her lovely items and hearing her amazing ideas. It was like Aladdin's cave and it was very hard not to want to hire EVERYTHING!

Eventually we managed to choose some table runners, candle stick and tea light holders, copper & macrame backdrop, 'Rules of the Dancefloor' sign, 'Ring for a Kiss' bell and loads of crates (which were beyond useful in a tipi with no additional furniture!) Our guests commented on how lovely they were during the day. Those extra little touches that I'm so glad we used and were 100% worth it. Collection and drop off were completely stress free and Tara was completely  understanding of the odd table runner wine stain!

“We honestly think these extra touches made such a big difference to our day and couldn't recommend Tara any more. Thanks again”
